Logistics Project Manager
Location: Brighouse, West Yorkshire
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Fixed Term Contract: 18 months
Reporting to: Operations Director
Salary: £45,000 – £48,000
The company is an importer, distributor, and brand builder of world-class beers from Europe, the USA, and Japan. They work closely with independent brewers and a diverse customer base including bar owners, pub groups, wholesalers, restaurateurs, and major retailers.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Logistics Project Manager will lead a transformation programme across our logistics and distribution network. The role is responsible for designing and implementing a scalable, efficient and customer-focused logistics model to support future growth.
This is a project-based role focused on defining how they deliver to their customers, including network structure, fleet strategy, capacity planning and enabling technologies.
Network Design & Optimisation
• Review and redesign the existing hub and spoke distribution model
• Analyse customer locations, volumes and demand patterns to optimise delivery routes and dispatch points
• Identify opportunities for network consolidation, expansion or restructuring
• Develop a future-state logistics network aligned to business growth
Customer Delivery Strategy
• Define service models, delivery frequency, location and lead times
• Ensure alignment between logistics capability and customer expectations
• Support commercial teams with insight into cost-to-serve and service trade-offs
• Identify opportunities to improve service while reducing operational cost
Fleet & Resource Strategy
• Evaluate current fleet performance, utilisation and cost efficiency
• Recommend future fleet composition (HGVs, vans, alternative fuel vehicles)
• Support development of a sustainable fleet roadmap aligned to environmental targets
• Assess driver and labour requirements in line with future demand
Capacity & Operational Planning
• Conduct capacity analysis across transport, warehousing and labour
• Identify constraints and opportunities for increased throughput
• Develop options to support growth including process improvements, investment or outsourcing
Technology & Systems
• Review current systems and identify opportunities for improvement
• Evaluate solutions including routing software, telematics, WMS and reporting tools
• Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to assess feasibility and support implementation planning
Project Management & Delivery
• Develop and manage a structured project plan
• Engage key stakeholders across operations, transport, IT and commercial teams
• Track progress against milestones and manage risks
• Deliver clear outputs including business cases, recommendations and implementation roadmaps
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with Transport and Warehouse teams to ensure solutions are practical and deliverable
• Provide insight and data to support day-to-day operational decision making where required
• Ensure all proposed changes are compliant with transport legislation and H&S requirements
• Maintain a strong understanding of current operational challenges and constraints

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain or transport environment
• Experience delivering projects or continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong understanding of distribution operations and network design
• Experience working with data (Excel, BI or similar tools)
• Knowledge of transport and warehouse systems (WMS, TMS, routing tools)
Desirable
• Experience in FMCG or multi-drop distribution environment
• Exposure to network modelling or logistics simulation tools
• Knowledge of sustainable transport solutions and fleet transition
